Apple’s Festival Place store in Basingstoke, England, will permanently close on Saturday, November 21. The company had previously said the store would shut in November but had not announced a specific date.
The shop, located inside the Festival Place shopping centre, opened in 2011. Apple said in a statement shared with The Reading Chronicle in August that employees would have the opportunity to work at Apple The Oracle in nearby Reading or at other Apple Store locations in the UK.
Apple plans to open a redesigned store at The Oracle in December. It will include a more accessible Genius Bar and a dedicated area for collecting online orders. Apple has not stated why it is closing the Basingstoke location; the move appears to consolidate its retail presence around the redesigned Reading store.
