Galaxy Z Fold8 sales in South Korea rose by more than 20% in a week after Apple’s iPhone Duo began shipping, according to a report from the country. The report links the increase to concerns among potential Duo buyers about quality control and reports of displays breaking.

Samsung saw a smaller sales bump after the iPhone Duo was unveiled in September. Galaxy Z Fold8 sales rose 10% week over week at the time, after consumers saw Apple’s foldable and its price, the report says.

Samsung is extending the sign-up period for its New AI Subscription Club by one month, through November. The program lets members trade in an old device and get a new one every one, two or three years. Members buying a Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra or Z Flip8 are offered guaranteed buy-back values that vary by device and subscription length: 50% for a one-year plan, 40% for a two-year plan (50% for the Flip) and 25% for a three-year plan.

Members can return their old phones at a Mintit automated kiosk instead of visiting a store. Samsung is also offering a KRW 100,000 bonus toward the trade-in value for returns made this way. Separately, its “Galaxy End of the Year Fiesta” promotion runs until December 31 and includes in-store shopping perks.

Samsung’s foldable sales are also performing well in Europe, where the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra together outsold the Z Fold7 by 45%, according to the report.
