Garmin’s Vivoactive 5 has reached its lowest price to date, with all four colors temporarily available for $169.99. The deal offers a lower-cost entry point to Garmin’s smartwatch range, which is known for long battery life, health tracking, phone compatibility, training plans, and exercise tracking.
The Vivoactive 5 is aimed at casual athletes who run occasionally, go to the gym, or include workouts in their regular routine without pursuing elite performance goals. It offers up to 11 days of battery life, an AMOLED display with a 360 x 360 resolution, a 5ATM water-resistance rating, and a weight of 23 grams without the band.
Garmin released the Vivoactive 6 earlier this year at a retail price of $299. The newer model retains the Vivoactive 5’s battery life, display resolution, water rating, and weight, while adding 8GB of storage instead of 4GB, a redesigned user interface, Garmin’s Smart Wake feature, and PacePro running guidance.
Smart Wake is designed for people who wear their watch around the clock, while PacePro may appeal to runners who want pacing guidance during workouts. The extra storage could also be useful for users who download music for offline runs. For buyers who do not need those additions, the Vivoactive 5’s current $169.99 price makes it the more affordable option.
