Huawei’s upcoming sub-brand, previously reported under the name Xingmang, will reportedly use the English name Osta. Two leakers say that name is also expected to appear on the phones’ retail boxes. The sub-brand is said to launch with two models: the Osta O1 and Osta O1 Pro, both positioned in the flagship segment.
The Osta O1 is reportedly designed with a screen curved on all four sides and a large circular camera module on the back. The O1 Pro is said to have a wider display, narrow bezels and a horizontal camera strip. Its reported specifications include a 6.39-inch, 1.5K LTPS flat screen with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio.
The O1 Pro is tipped to come in four memory configurations: 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, 12GB with 512GB, 16GB with 512GB, and 16GB with 1TB. Its specifications and price are said to be comparable to Huawei’s flagship phones.
The reported flagship positioning differs from an earlier rumor that the Starlight-branded phones would be mid-range devices using Kirin 8-series chipsets. One leaker also said Huawei will continue offering wide-screen phones under its main brand, rather than reserving that design for Osta.
