iOS 27.3 will extend a set of StandBy features first introduced on the iPhone Duo to every iPhone model compatible with the update, according to Apple. The changes are coming to the iPhone 11 and newer.
StandBy displays information at a glance when an iPhone is charging in landscape orientation, turning it into a bedside-clock-style display. On iPhone Duo, the mode can also work while the device is folded like a book or a tent, even when it is not charging.
The update adds more color and complication customization to the Analog and Digital Clock faces. The Photos face will support selecting Shared Albums, while Calendar and Weather faces will also be added. Users will be able to create multiple versions of each face type and swipe between them.
iOS 27.3 also brings vertical tabs to Safari, reintroduces Apple’s redesigned Health app and enables some Apple Intelligence features in China. Apple released the first developer beta earlier today and said the update will become available to the public in December.
