Apple’s iPhone 18 is rumored to bring two upgrades: improved performance and a larger battery. The claims come from a Chinese leaker on Weibo, according to a report by GSMArena, and have not been confirmed by Apple.

The phone is expected to use a toned-down version of Apple’s A20 chip, reportedly built on TSMC’s 2nm process. Battery life could also improve thanks to a larger battery, rather than relying only on the new chip’s efficiency.

The report says Apple may announce the standard iPhone 18 models in early 2027, after introducing only the Pro models from the lineup this year. It also suggests the smaller Dynamic Island will remain exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro series.

The base iPhone 18’s price is reportedly set to rise. The report does not give a new price, but notes that the iPhone 17 already launched with a $100 increase.
