Apple’s rumored iPhone-18e/">iPhone 18e may focus mainly on a processor upgrade, with few major changes expected, according to Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital. The leaker said a new chip is the only upgrade they can currently confirm and claimed the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will share some manufacturing processes.
Fixed Focus Digital previously predicted that the iPhone 17e would keep its notch, contrary to reports that it would adopt the Dynamic Island. That track record may raise the possibility that the iPhone 18e will also retain a notch, but the leaker did not explicitly comment on the feature.
A separate report from Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station said the iPhone 18e could have an A20 chip, a 6.12-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a single 48-megapixel rear camera. The report also suggested that its front-facing camera might be upgraded.
The A20 is expected to be similar to the A20 Pro chip reportedly intended for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, but with one fewer GPU core, as with the previous generation. The iPhone 18e is expected to launch alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027.
