Samsung’s stable Android 17-based One UI 9 update is reaching more Galaxy devices, but some users are reporting problems with Android Auto after installing it.
Reports have appeared on Reddit, Samsung’s community forums and Google’s forums. Affected users describe stuttering performance, while others say Android Auto fails to connect altogether. The issue does not appear to be widespread, but the number and consistency of reports point to a possible pattern.
A test highlighted by Android Authority compared a Galaxy S25 Edge running One UI 8.5 with a Galaxy S24 Ultra running One UI 9. The former showed no problems, while the latter reproduced the issues reported by other users. Although the comparison was not a scientific test, it suggests that One UI 9 could be contributing to the unusual Android Auto behavior.
Samsung and Google have not announced an official fix so far.
