Google says it has rolled out a fix for Android-auto/">Android Auto issues affecting some Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 9. The company confirmed the update in a statement to 9to5Google on November 3.
Reports of problems appeared after Samsung began its wider rollout of the Android 17-based One UI 9 update. Users posted on Reddit and Samsung and Google forums about stuttering performance and, in some cases, Android Auto connections failing entirely.
The reports did not point to a problem affecting all users, but they showed a recurring pattern. Android Authority also cited a user test in which Android Auto worked without issues on a Galaxy S25 Edge running One UI 8.5, while a Galaxy S24 Ultra on One UI 9 reproduced the reported problems. The test was not scientific, but suggested a possible link to the new software.
Google has now confirmed that a fix has been rolled out for affected Galaxy devices.
