Samsung’s rumored Galaxy A38 could bring a significant battery upgrade over the Galaxy A37. According to a new report, the phone will have a rated battery capacity of 5,882 mAh, corresponding to a typical capacity of 6,000 mAh. That would be 20% more than the A37’s 5,000 mAh battery.
The report also says this would be the largest battery used in a Galaxy A phone sold in Europe. However, the A38 is not expected to use silicon-carbon battery technology.
Other rumored specifications point to a modest update. The A38 is said to retain the A37’s camera configuration: a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro camera and a 12MP selfie camera. If accurate, it would be the third consecutive Galaxy A model with this setup, following the A36 and A37.
It is not yet known whether the Galaxy A58 will receive the same battery upgrade. The report says the two phones are expected to launch together in March or April, but does not confirm that they will share a battery.
Pricing has also not been confirmed. The A36 launched in Europe at €379, while the A37 debuted at €429 before its recommended price was apparently raised to €469. The report suggests the A38 could be priced closer to €500.
